Torso Support Positioning Belt

Torso Support

Designed for people with poor upper-body strength, our Torso-Support Positioning Belts prevent unwanted forward and lateral movement, and maintain the torso in proper mid-line position while sitting.  The dual strap and side stay composition ensures secure torso position without restricting breathing.

You may order a belt custom-fit to your measurements, or in a multi adjustable size.  The chest strap of the positioning belt is available in 4-inch soft loop fabric or 2-inch wide webbing.

The following three types of positioning belt closures are available:

Closure I uses Velcro-like straps which overlap to fasten.  A "D" ring is attached to the end of the overlapping strap to make it easier to hold for persons with limited manual strength or dexterity.  Closure I is recommended for use only with multi-adjustable belts.

Closure II is the most popular fastener.  It uses a Velcro-like strap which loops through a "D" ring and fastens by folding back upon itself.  The fold-back design adds extra strength.  Closure II is an extremely easy and comfortable fastener for people with limited hand strength.  It is available only on belts made to the specific individual's measurements.  (To allow for winter clothing, a 6-inch extension for Closure II Torso Support is available.)

Closure III fastens using a 2-inch plastic squeeze buckle and webbing straps.  Closure III is recommended for use only with multi-adjustable positioning belts, and for those who have good hand strength, or an attendant.

The IMEC Torso Support is a positioning belt only and is NOT designed to serve as an automobile safety belt.
